Rocket Man Posted September 13, 2012 Report post Posted September 13, 2012 Still bemused as to why it works with virtual machine and not physical machine....does SCCM OSD not keep a common thread(same files flow through IIS regardless if it is a VM or a PM) Did you push it out to the VM again since? Are you sure you injected the correct driver??(may not be thecase anyway...not sure at what stage it bombs out at if missing NIC driver) If it works on VM and not on PM then it is possibly either Driver issue or physical hardware issue with the target laptop!! Have you tried a different model of machine to rule out the above diagnosis?? Also due to the fact it runs seamlessly on the VM then it is also NOT your network access account..(which can bomb out at apply OS if not configured properly) Rocket Man
WolleXPC Posted September 14, 2012 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Check the IIS log for the file BCD and make sure that the status code at the end of the line is like "200 0 0 xx". Anything like 401 or 404 would be bad. No row which contains "BCD" has the status code 401 or 404. I just checked the smsts.log from task's of capture files for wim file "windows 7 x86", "windows 7 x64" and installation with a wim file (created with a virtual machine). -In smsts.log of capture files for wim file "windows 7x86" the error comes from a file of the x86 boot image -In smsts.log of capture files for wim file "windows 7x64" the error comes from a file of the x64 boot image -In smsts.log of install windows 7x64 with a wim file the error comes from the wim file At monday I will try it with another client. I have to use driver for windows vista because fujitsu siemens doesn't make any available. Thanks for your help. Peter33 Posted September 14, 2012 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Well, seems like rocket man is right and the problem breaks down to the ethernet driver, but in a different way. Which chipset does the NIC have, broadcom or intel? And did you try the drivers of the NIC manufacturer? Good luck and happy weekend
Rocket Man Posted September 14, 2012 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Trust me Fujitsu is a nightmare to handle and I guarantee you it's the NIC driver that is the problem.....I use to have just WDS implemented and it has the same idea with injecting drivers into the boot.wim to get it to succesfully deploy OS.... There is a website for Fujitsu drivers...you will have to keep searching...try Fujitsu UK....I eventually found a website way back....and by all means inject both drivers into it to make sure.. Rocket Man Posted September 14, 2012 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Also it should not matter what kind of driver(Vista) you use at PXE enviornment time...once it is able to establish the share connection...it is at the apply driver time after the OS is installed that you have to worry about what driver gets injected into the OS Rocket Man
WolleXPC Posted September 20, 2012 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Hey guys, this week I was busy with errors of sccm. It is enough to drive one to dispair :-( I downloaded NIC driver from the Intel website and imported them with the NIC (from Fujitsu website) and Sata-controller driver in sccm. Than I included them in the boot images. The client still can't download the files from the sccm server :-( The same problem I have with a HP client (without driver of HP). I noticed that the client displays the sccm wallpaper for a long time (5-10minutes) until I can log in and choose a task. In a virtual machine I see the window after a few seconds. Is it a problem that the sccm is working in a vm with vmware workstation and the (fujitsu or hp) client is connected over a bridged NIC with the sccm server? Why you think that the NIC is the reason for the problem? I can't comprehend it, because the client get an ip adress and load the boot image at the beginning. Here is the actual smsts.log. I find another two errors: - The user tries to release a source directory C:\_SMSTaskSequence\Packages\COL00019 that is either already released or we have not connected to it - The execution of the group (Build the Reference Machine) has failed and the execution has been aborted. WolleXPC Posted October 8, 2012 Report post Posted October 8, 2012 I found the reason for my problem. It is hard to believe it. I tested SCCM2012 in a virtual environment with vmware and the internal NIC of my (host-) client caused the errors. I don't know why. I realized it when I used a USB-NIC. Now it works!
