Wizarden Posted September 29, 2012 Report post Posted September 29, 2012 Hi. I have strange problem. After I capture Image and install OS from it. In system center, on new installed PC, all applications/packages that has to be installed immediately shows "Waiting to install". Reboot don't help it all. I use different Virtual PCs. Adding to domain/workgroup hasn't change anything. Can somebody give me a hint where to start for troubleshooting. If for deployment OS I use Installers of Windows 7, everything working perfectly, and all soft installs immediately. For capture I use Clean Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise x64. Or may be anybody know about this problem and already have the solution?
AmrelMahdy Posted October 1, 2012 Report post Posted October 1, 2012 Maybe you can check the Distribution log files
anyweb Posted October 1, 2012 Report post Posted October 1, 2012 post the smsts.log file from your build and capture and we'll take a look,. any issues should be logged in there, you shouldn't be joining the domain during Build and Capture (join a workgroup instead)
Wizarden Posted October 1, 2012 Report post Posted October 1, 2012 Can you clarify, what exacly smsts.log do you want? After Build and Capture I have smsts.log in two places: 1. C:\SMSTSLog smsts.log smsts-20121001-111605.log 2. C:\Windows\CCM\Logs smsts.log smsts-20121001-112748.log Or you need smsts.log that I get after installation OS deployed from captured wim? Oneone Posted October 3, 2012 Report post Posted October 3, 2012 Post the logfile from the client AFTER you have deployed windows to that machine.
anyweb Posted October 3, 2012 Report post Posted October 3, 2012 and add it as an attachment instead of pasting the entire log in a quote
Wizarden Posted October 4, 2012 Report post Posted October 4, 2012 Log files after deployment. smsts.log smsts-20121005-015253.log
Oneone Posted October 5, 2012 Report post Posted October 5, 2012 Just a question, are you using the WIM file from the Windows 7 CD for deployment? , or did you make a wim from build and capture Task Sequence?
Wizarden Posted October 5, 2012 Report post Posted October 5, 2012 I use image from build and capture. If I use win7 image - I haven't seen this problem, but it was different problem "D:" as System disk.
anyweb Posted October 5, 2012 Report post Posted October 5, 2012 if windows is ending up on D: then you are using install.wim from the Windows media (this probelm is resolved in Configuration Manager 2012 Service Pack 1).
