migration question

Recommended Posts

I want to migrate my SCCM2007 existing infrastructure to SCCM2012. I had a multi-part question, from an CM07 site(s) migration perspective.

1. Do I still need to enable "Infrastructure Discovery" ? as you said, in case of "Infrastructure Discover"the discovered information will be automatically added to CM12 as boundary locations ? Would this conflict with the sites being migrated (having already defined boundaries) ? At what point of time, I need to enable the discovery... before/after migration ?

2. Can I assign a migrated CM07 primary/secondary site to a CM12 boundary group?

3. If I migrate my CM 2007 sites to CM12, what about existing distribution points. Would distribution points setup also be migrated to the new CM12 setup or I would need to create new distribution points/content location?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

First Create a new site with a different Name than the Old Site.

Second Create Your Boundaries and Boundary Groups (BUT DONNOT MAKE AUTOSITE ASSIGNMENT) to Avoid Site Overlapping.

Third Run your Discovery Methods

Fourth start Migration

Fifth Start Client Push Installation on certain collections

sixth After you finish client installation you can enable the Auto Site Assignment of Boundary Groups
