Windows 7 sccm task sequence 64 bit

Hi,

I am new to sccm so im not an expert so this may be a stupid question.

 

I originally created a task sequence using a 32 bit image. i was just asked to create another for a 64 bit machine. i swapped the swapped the 32 bit image with the 64bit but however it keeps failing after it does the "setup windows and ConfigrMgr" step.

 

Does anyone know what the problem is,,, ive read a few things about a registry porblem.

1. Did you duplicate another task sequence, or build a new one?
   
2. Did you select a 64-bit boot image instead of a 32-bit boot image?
   
3. What is the error you're getting when the task sequence fails?
   
4. Have you checked the smsts.log to see what's going on?

   2. You'll want to enable command prompt support in your boot images, which will allow you to find and open smsts.log. Depending on where you are at in the task sequence, it will be in different locations.

Hi,

When you just swap the image the unattend.xml file used isn't changed so I would add a new "apply image" step instead then it should work..

Of course if you have the correct drivers.

Well if you created the 32bit image TS??? you should have no bother creating a 64bit image TS Ray as it is the same principle only that you use the new 64bit image and also 64bit boot.wim
