nasham Posted October 17, 2012 Report post Posted October 17, 2012 Hello all, i am trying since several weeks installing sccm 2012 in a testenvironment and i am unable to get the distribution point up and running. I am not sure if i am just to silly or if i am doing anything wrong here. My main issue is that i do not see any distribution point in the section Administration > Distribution Points (no items found). I have one Primary site server and the distribution point role is installed. I also do not see the virtual directory in IIS and also do not see the smspkgc$ share on my drive. I tried now different setups with windows server 2008 R2 and 2012 with SQL 2008 and 2012. I am pretty sure i do something wrong but i have no idea what maybe there is an issue with the IIS configuration ? All features and roles are installed as well

Rocket Man Posted October 19, 2012 Report post Posted October 19, 2012 During the setup of SCCM it prompts you near the finalisation of installation to add a Distribution point for the site server (saves you having to do it manually again after) did you not install it at this stage? Also have you added the site servers system account to be a member of the local admin group of the site server?? May help to do this if you havent already! Rocket Man Posted October 24, 2012 Report post Posted October 24, 2012 As Kingen has pointed out BITS is very important in SCCM and is needed especially when running content directly from DPs..
