Deployment Packages

Question

I created a windows update deployment package. Now I have shifted and I am using Automatic Deployment Rules for some of the updates. I would like to create a new deployment package for the updates that I want to deploy manually. Can I delete a deployment package or will I delete the updates along with the package?

I purchased Microsoft System Center 2012 unleashed but I can't find anything in it about this.

Does anyone recommend another book title?(Maybe this should be another topic)

Thanks

Mark

I am a bit confused on this topic. The book i have says

"Each update is only downloaded once and stored in one deployment package, ensuring that content is not duplicated throughout the infrastructure."

I have two deployment packages with the same Security Updates in them. One of them I originally created and the other one is updated through an Automatic Deployment Rule.

If I deleted both of them could I recreate the Automatic Deployment Rule and download the updates again?

Thanks

Mark
