SCCM 2012 will not install Client

Question

Been trying to install sccm 2012 client on our production systems. we are using only a few systems direct with no success.

We did not have any issues in our test environment.

The ccmsetup.log on the systems states the following:

<![LOG[MP 'SCCM2012P01.allegisgroup.com' didn't return DP locations for client package with the expected version. Retrying in 30 minutes.]LOG]!><time="16:33:06.236+240" date="10-25-2012" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="2" thread="19588" file="ccmsetup.cpp:9604">

been trying to determine what is meant by client package with the expected version means.

Both the domain we use is on systems as local admin and the site system account is in a group that also has local admin rights. the domain account is what is used.

the ccm.log on the primary site indicates the systems are found, using domain account. copying source files, starting ccmsetup, etc and then moves to the next systems in the collwction. the error encountered was one system was off the network.

no other errors are indicated, but the primary site must be acknowledge unsuccessful installs, because the installs keep trying every 30 minutes.

Done for day, hopy be then someone has an answer. Thanks

This is because the Client installation "CCMSETUP.exe" is trying to download the client.msi and associated content from the Distribution Point. the error indicates that either the content is not available on the DP or that the version is an older or newer version to the current install.

i would suggest making sure that the actual "Client Package" within SCCM is successfully distributed to the DP in your location, and that you are trying to install a new client using ccmsetup.exe from the same version.
