P.Keen Posted October 31, 2012 Report post Posted October 31, 2012 Hi, We have a new server with all new devices which was imported using a file (start from fresh cos the old world was way off in accuracy). I'm trying to do OSD deployments but they are failing (basically thinks it has no job to do) when I check for devices with that mac address I now have two entries one is imported manually and the other "heartbeat discovery". Why don't the two records merge into one? And how can I reverse this process so I can do my deployments? Also the heartbeat discovery entry has the client type as "Computer" and client as "yes" where as the manual entry one does not. Should I be removing the manual entry one and keeping the heartbeat discovery one? I removed the manually entered entry and it works fine but should I be removing the manual one or the HB discovered one? What is best practice? Peter van der Woude Posted October 31, 2012 Report post Posted October 31, 2012 You shouldn't manually import device that already have a client. These devices will get discovered, as you have noticed.
P.Keen Posted October 31, 2012 Report post Posted October 31, 2012 The devices are being reimaged and have the old SCCM client on them. So we can't reimage unless we manually enter it into the system. We are kind of in the middle of crossing from 2007 to 2012 but don't want anything from 2007 to come across into 2012.
