Aquintus Posted November 14, 2012 Report post Posted November 14, 2012 Hi, is it possible to install user targeted applications within a tasksequence, instead of deploy them after the tasksequence is completed? Best regards Aquintus
0 Peter van der Woude Posted November 14, 2012 Report post Posted November 14, 2012 Well, it depends on what you exactly mean.. The application it self can be easily deployed during a task sequence, but that's not user-based. A task sequence is always computer-based. 0 Aquintus Posted November 15, 2012 Report post Posted November 15, 2012 Thank you for your reply. In this workflow (http://blogs.technet...deployment.aspx) there is a step called "user targeted applications set for pre-deploy install". my question was whether it is possible to migrate this step into the tasksequence. The advandage would be that the complete installation with all user targeted software would be completed after the tasksequence has finished. 0 Peter van der Woude Posted November 19, 2012 Report post Posted November 19, 2012 Nope, you can set UDA during the task sequence, but the applications will be deployed after the task sequence is finished. This weekend I started with a sample idea how something like this might be possible with Orchestrator and AD groups: http://www.petervanderwoude.nl/post/pre-provision-user-applications-based-on-group-membership-during-os-deployment-via-orchestrator-and-configmgr-2012/
