UserInterface Posted November 29, 2012 Report post Posted November 29, 2012 I really need some help on these ones. I have a HP Compaq 6910p and I just can not get these drivers to install. I got all the others from http://catalog.update.microsoft.com and this got rid of the "out of resources problem" that I was having. When I look up these Hardware IDs it looks like they are for the Intel AMT LMS_SOL for AMT 3.0 but upon installing these manually (setup.exe) they do not seem to be for these two items, can anyone help me get these last 2 in place? Rocket Man Posted November 29, 2012 Report post Posted November 29, 2012 Hi have you tried the HP system software download manager yet? http://h20331.www2.h...-0-225-121.html
UserInterface Posted November 29, 2012 Report post Posted November 29, 2012 I used that first to get drivers (and i get all other models with that) but for this model it applies to many or something cause I end up as out of system resources. SO i used http://catalog.update.microsoft.com and just got the drivers that I needed and it seems to be working but I just can not work out these 2 drivers... Rocket Man Posted November 29, 2012 Report post Posted November 29, 2012 Okay then if you have downloaded the full drivers and packaged them for this model, what I would suggest doing is running the most likely drivers again on the machine manually to see which one sorts them out.....could be a case that you may have to devise some sort of script to install these drivers......had to do this once on a particular model even though the full drivers where in the package it failed to install some of them, so i did what I mentioned above and when I found which drivers it was from the package I did a bit of digging in the extracted files and came across an msi inside one of the extracted drivers.......I devised a simple script and made a seperate package(not driver but actual package) and used the same query as the driver query so that when it came to the time of installing the package it would check the wmi query and if it was true it installed this package/driver and all was good after this.......hopefully this may help you some what.. UserInterface Posted November 29, 2012 Report post Posted November 29, 2012 OK just to clear but i'll try this anyway. What I have done I have done a search and it appears that the required file is sp46134.exe So I downloaded and ran this file (just ran the EXE manually on the laptop) it brings up the install and runs through fine with no errors. But in device manager it will still say those drivers are not there. I hope this makes sense as I am never very good at explaining myself. What you say to do: Download all the drivers for the 6910p and install them one by one and hope that one works then use that in sccm. I am just trying that now and see how I go but just wanted to make sure I was reading that right,
UserInterface Posted November 30, 2012 Report post Posted November 30, 2012 Damn it! wouldn't you know the first one that I try from HPDM worked! Seems to be a newer one that what I was using.. Sometimes it pays to go back to basics. Thanks for the help, I wouldn't have done that without the prompt. I'll throw it to SCCM and hopefully everything goes OK. UserInterface Posted December 3, 2012 Report post Posted December 3, 2012 Worked perfect, can't believe it was a dumb version mismatch. Turns out the first one I had was for versions up to vista but the other one was windows 7 only.
