Jannik Posted December 12, 2012 Report post Posted December 12, 2012 Hello, I’m working in an environment with a CAS and three primary sites. The CAS and two of the primaries work fine but on one primary there is a memory problem. The amount of memory for the process “smsexec.exe” increases just after booting the server. After two hours it takes up to 8GB memory and finally decreases the memory of the SQL-server process and “kills” the server. On the other primary sites the process “smsexec.exe” just takes about 100MB memory. Additional information: SQL-server running on primary site server (no cluster etc.) 8GB dedicated RAM for SQL-server Total RAM of the server: 16GB All discovery methods disabled (except of “Heartbeat Discovery”) re-installation of that primary site server didn't help I know that there was a hotfix to solve that problem in SCCM2007. Is there something similar in SCCM2012? Does the installation of CU may helps? Thanks in advance for any ideas or help!
Glen Posted December 13, 2012 Report post Posted December 13, 2012 Hi, check the memory usage on the svchost.exe process. I had an issue with my Primary Site server and a memory leak. svchost.exe memory usage would just keep increasing. Have a read through my post on TechNet which has the hotfix http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/configmanagergeneral/thread/a7ea5840-b573-43d3-b2d7-c14f7e36149c
