Install Updates timeout for both Build and Capture and Deploying wim task sequences

Recommended Posts

Recently migrated SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012, including all packages, collections etc. In SCCM 2007, the Install Updates step was working for all task sequences. Since migrating across, the Install Updates step times out for both Build and Capture task sequences and task sequences to deploy captured wims. This is for all Operating Systems. I've tried the following

-Adding SMSMP to the Setup Windows and Configmgr step

-Verifying update packages are distributed

-Verified current update packages deploy to existing SCCM 2012 clients

-Added multiple Install Update steps with reboots inbetween.

-Verified same boundaries have been migrated over and also let SCCM auto discover boundaries

-Verified that the Update deployments are targeting "Unknown Computer" Collection

In the Windowsupdate.log I can see it actually finds updates to install, but never gets as far to download or install them. I can deploy Applications and Packages within the same task sequence, just not Updates.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

have you verified the updates are downloaded in the deployment package ? have you added this computer to a build and capture collection or is it unknown the entire time ?
