Peter van der Woude Posted December 19, 2012 Report post Posted December 19, 2012 That's usually a problem with either the source files being available or an incorrect command line. What other messages are shown in the log, around the error?
andy_aus Posted December 19, 2012 Report post Posted December 19, 2012 Thanks for quick reply. That is the log from execmgr. S/W im trying to install is firefox 3.6 as per the guide here. If no source file available, s/w will not download? This case i can in it manually from CCM cache with Firefox.exe -ms.My infrastructure is VM Lab with Server 2008*2 (AD & SCCM R3+SQL08) and W7*2 Clients. Im not sure if it has anything to do with access permission. Which user a/c clients uses when installing deployed s/w? I have created 2 a/cs in domain ( SMSadmin & SMSread) I have added both a/cs to Clients with adm priv. I used SMSadmin as network access account and a/c for client push. Im loging on to client with AD admin a/c . When you say clients should have sccm computer a/c as local admin, Which a/c are you referring? andy_aus Posted December 21, 2012 Report post Posted December 21, 2012 Guys, Issue has been resolved. What all I had to do was to add sccm server computer a/c to clients as local admin! Apparently we need to do so before adding clients to domain. I newbies like me struggle at the very first deployment, pls add your server computer a/c (sccm server name) to clients. Pls advise if im wrong. Thank you guys for such effort to put up such site wth less advs influence.
Peter van der Woude Posted December 21, 2012 Report post Posted December 21, 2012 There is no functional requirement to add the site server account to the local administrators of a client... The clients use the network access account (is that configured?) to access the distribution point and use the local SYSTEM account to run an installation. andy_aus Posted December 24, 2012 Report post Posted December 24, 2012 Hi, I have NAA with user a/c SMSAdmin and added it as local admin to clients. But SCCM client or Apps never got installed/deployed. I could see a lock on CCMsetup and Cache! I wasn't sure if it is an issue with Windows 7. I tried both NAA and Domain admin a/c to log on to client, but with similar error. Is there any log on script to install SCCM Clients which seems to be the best option. I tried various scripts but all are complicated for newbie like me! Thanks
