DP Installation Error

Recommended Posts

Firstly I want to verify this is even possible. I am trying to set up a seperate vlan for deployment through pxe. The site servers is on a vlan called management, and the pxe distribution point is set to be on a vlan named deploy. The deploy vlan is routed to the management vlan, and does not have internet access.

The two vlans are behind a juniper firewall, with a policy allowing any traffic between the two vlans. Logging is enabled and no dropped packets are noted. The software firewalls are off on the site server, and new deployment server.

Moving the new deploy node to the management vlan the installation processes without error. So the issue seems to be in the vlan seperation, but I am unsure why because I can connect to wmi, and run queries.

Errors:

CWmi::Connect() failed to connect to \\computer.domain.com\root\CIMv2. Error = 0x800706BA

Failed to install DP files on the remote DP. Error code = 1722

Attached is a full log excerpt of the distribution point installation. I replaced the computer domain name with computer.domain.com

Changes/Tests:

Enabled: Windows FireWall: Allow inbound remote administration exception

Enabled: Windows Firewall Allow inbound file and printer sharing exception

Added site computer account to targets administrator group

Added site computer to wmi security permissions.

Verified connection of wmi through wbemtest.exe to the target deploy node.

Ran wmi queries inserting data to the target node.

Several Re Installs

DisJoin/ReJoin to AD

WMI repair

Import mof files manually for sccm deployment node.

Tried installing with several accounts, with escalated AD privilegs. All users were added

Enable/Disable Bits/RDs

Add/Remove Bits/RDS

Can anyone provide any insight?

Thanks in advance
