Tay Posted January 4, 2013 Report post Posted January 4, 2013 Just FYI it appears SP1 upgrade might restart your SQL Server. Why would it install 2012 native client? I thought SQL Server 2012 was not supported? The process msiexec.exe has initiated the restart of computer SQ2 on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found Reason Code: 0x80030002 Shutdown Type: restart Comment: The Windows Installer initiated a system restart to complete or continue the configuration of 'Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client '. anyweb Posted January 6, 2013 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 SQL Server 2012 is supported with Service Pack 1, the native client is part of the setup installation of SP1 and you are prompted whether you want to install it (or not) are you installing it on Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2008 ? BIGpete Posted January 6, 2013 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 I thought SQL Server 2012 was not supported? Clearly some people do not read the release notes / supported configurations before applying service packs these days. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx
