Issues with new sccm 2012 Install

Hi Guys,

 

I have recently installed a new SCCM 2012 machine and setup my image, software and task sequences.

 

However upon deploying the imaging sequence it, goes to in progress then the task sequence engine fails.

 

I'm not too sure what is going on, nothing in the logs really stands out besides a few errors. I have tried googling around for a solution but could not find one, and now i'm losing hair over it .

 

Any idea what might be the case? let me know if you need any more log files.

What's the precise error the task sequence gives? What stage does it occur at? Are any logs generated on the client? - Particularly the smsts.log (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb932135.aspx) (it's easier to get at if the command prompt is accessible from your boot image)

I found this in the smsts.log

The error I get is "the task sequence manager could not successfully complete execution of the task sequence"

 

And it occurs before anything even happens on the client.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do, but the it fails at a reboot to WinPE (which probably should be FullOS). This is the message: Failed to locate the local data path. The files needed to resume the task sequence are missing. This could be because the task sequence finished while in Windows PE. Please check the largest available partition for SMSTSLog\smsts.log file for more information.

Hi Guys,

 

Sorry for the delay. The part of our network with the SCCM machine had to be switched of yesterday for testing and tagging.

 

So I fired off the Apply Image task sequence again today and watched the process too see where it was failing.

 

I missed one of them as I got caught up with other jobs but the error message was 8000FFFF and the other one failed just after downloading the wim file and was at the "applying 2-2 to machine" with an 80070070 error.
