So I'm inheriting someone else's SCCM server and am trying to fix the deployment process. First off I'd like to give a hundred thanks to anyweb. Without the tutorials/screenshots/etc from him I would not be able to handle any of this. The threads posted are done so well I've really grasped the concept of SCCM and what it does. I've been able to fix problems in the previous few days that our previous SCCM administrator has spent years saying "deal with it there's no solution". So from the bottom of my heart, thank you and your guides are amazing.
Now to my question that I'm sure is quite silly. We use a CD to boot the machines to the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Windows 7 Deployment process (not sure if that matters but we don't do PXE booting). The mouse cursor works fine on the part where we select the 32 or 64 bit image processes but after it starts the actual imaging process the cursor disappears. Like it says right now "Setup is preparing your computer for first use" and it says "Running action: Install Directx" and I can move the mouse all over and not see the arrow. However if I move it just right, I can get it over the "Installation Progress" box and then the cursor shows up.
Is there any way to see the mouse cursor even when it's not over that box? The reason I ask is because there's a prompt in the imaging process to enter the computer name before adding it to the domain and that prompt gets hidden behind the other window so we have to play with the mouse for a bit to find the cursor to move the window so we can type the asset tag in. I know minor silly issue but it's plagued us since we started deploying Windows 7 and I know there has to be a solution.
