What is the time duration that SCCM will try again to start installing it. Thanks Prakash
0 GarthMJ Posted January 18, 2013 Report post Posted January 18, 2013 CM07 will not retry this install. You will need to re-advertise it or create a new mandatory schedule time for the existing advert.
0 doppers Posted January 22, 2013 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 Hi, does this apply to failed software distribution task sequence when you get the error "The program for advertisement "............." failed (" .............- "*"). Operating System Deployment task sequences cannot run when the computer is on the Internet. The machines that received this error i understand will no longer try to re-run the advertisment. Is there anyway to manually deploy the task sequence or to distribute the software to individual or a group of clients?
0 GarthMJ Posted January 22, 2013 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 I'm not sure but it might re-run when the PC is back on the Intranet as that error should be considered a "soft fail". If you SCCM Client Center (freeware tool), you can re-run the advertisement.
0 doppers Posted January 22, 2013 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 Thanks GarthMJ........just to confirm, with this tool i can run the same advertisement against the clients? As i understand once the advertisement has been advertised to the client and fails it usually does not run the same advertisement. I'm new to SCCM to apologies if the questions are basic! 0 GarthMJ Posted January 22, 2013 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 That tool will clean out all the flags that tell the CM client that it has been run before and therefore the client thinks that it has never seen the advertisement before and runs it again. 0 GarthMJ Posted January 22, 2013 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 SCCM client center does not need to be installed in the site server, you can running form any workstation. I use it from my workstations and remotely connect to the affected PCs.
