Site Status "Critical"

Recommended Posts

I have an issue where the Component Server role on my remote database server is in a "Critical" status and will not clear. It all started when I removed the "Reporting Services Point" and placed it on another server (about 2 months ago). It appears this Component Server role is referring to the SMS_SITE_SQL_BACKUP component. The Storage Object has plenty of free space and permissions shoudnt be an issue. When I look at this component's thresholds, they are different from all others. For instance, the thresholds for "Informational messages," is 1 for Warning and 1 for Critical as well rather than 2000 and 5000. Also, I can replicate the error in a test environment. Again, all is good after installing ConfigMgr; its just when you add a role to the database server and then go back and remove it is when the problem begins. If I install everything on the same machine, however, the component thresholds are all ok and I have no problems. Has anyone else experienced this same scenario or have any suggestions? Thanks.

Well, when I go into Status Summarizers to change them, it actually shows the correct thresholds. Its the oddest thing. Even if I change them, the change doesn't reflect when viewing the threholds in Component Status. I've just been living with the situation because everything still appears to function correctly, but it would be nice if I could get it to clear up. Thanks.
