Issue with Reporting File Space

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I hope this isn't a really basic mistake!

I am trying to run reports on Hardware - Disk > Disk Information for a specific computer - Logical Disks. The problem is the File Space column has no data.

I have looked this up and I have believe i need to enable Free Space on Logical Disk class. I go to Administration > Client Settings > Servers > Properties > Hardware Inventory Tab > Set Classes. This is when I get my next error!

The SMS Provider reported an error.

Details >

nstance of SMS_ExtendedStatus
{
Description = "CSspInventoryReport::GetRealInstance: Failed to get item from database";
ErrorCode = 2151811598;
File = "e:\\nts_sccm_release\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\sspinventoryreport.cpp";
Line = 627;
Operation = "GetObject";
ParameterInfo = "SMS_InventoryReport.InventoryReportID=\"{2c4933ab-e5a0-46a2-b338-3c2f304fa89c}\"";
ProviderName = "ExtnProv";
StatusCode = 2147749890;
};

Any help\ideas much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I know it is a bit late but just in case it helps someone... I had this issue also and it is apparently due to corruption of the inventory classes associated with your device settings. I fixed mine by:

1) Remove hardware inventory from the custom settings in question and save.

2) re-add Hardware inventory to the custom settings.

After this, I was able to Set Classes appropriately again. Unfortunately, I lost any previous customizations but in my case, that was not a huge issue.

Hope this helps someone.
