High CPU Usage on SCCM's SQL Instance

Recommended Posts

That helped me as well, after SP1, CU1, the Software Summarization was set to run every hour, and had my SQL pegged. We went from 4 to 6 cores, same thing, bumped it to 8, same thing... If you're looking for where summarization is, right click on "All Software Updates" under Software Updates in Software Library, and you'll see summarization. It was set to every hour, so I changed that to 1 day, and it's much happier now.

When is there going to be a fix for this? It is very aggravating when trying to collect data about your environment. As well, yes I can set it to run once a day, but can I choose what time it runs? It is not configuration friendly.

I don't know of a way, if there is I would like to know as well.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share that, in my case, after incresing server resources, some things changed but nevertheless the compsumption was still there.

After reviewing the logs from SQL server, we identified that a replication session from the CAS server over to its instance was completely stuck and consuming a lot of CPU resources. Just like any other Microsoft producto, we rebooted the SQL server that holds the instance, and everything is running smoothly again, we are doing some analysis to determine what caused that in the first place, but nothing has come up yet.

Just wanted to share this, it may help someone.

Regards,
