HELP Stuck on setup, lots of errors on SCCM.

Recommended Posts

ok so I have been this forums installation guide and on Part 5. Adding WSUS, Adding the SUP role, deploying the Configuration Manager Client Agent, I started having issues.

currently the package fails on all clients.

I have the following errors in the CM Status Message Viewer:

SMS_MP_CONTROL MANAGER - MP Control Manager detected management point is not responding to HTTP requests. The HTTP status code and text is 500, Internal Server Error.

SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER - Distribution Manager failed to process package "Configuration Manager Client Upgrade Package" (package ID = LGI00003).

SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER - Distribution Manager is waiting for package LGI00002 content to be prestaged on the distribution point ["Display=\\SCCM.mydomain.local\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=LGI"]\\SCCM.mydomain.local\. You must manually prestage the package LGI00002 on the distribution point before the content will be available.

SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER - Failed to create virtual directory on the defined share or volume on distribution point "["Display=\\SCCM.mydomain.local\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=LGI"]\\SCCM.mydomain.local\".

I followed parts 1-4 to the letter.. Got to Part 5 and everything fell apart.. WSUS seems to be working correctly, but I cannot get CCMSETUP to install..

ok well I have cleared all the errors out.

not really sure what caused them, but after spending hours searching on Google, I came to the conclusion that removing the MP, App Cat Web Service, and App Cat Website roles, Rebooting and reapplying those roles should correct the errors and it did.

I was able to successful push the ccmsetup to 1 client, currently waiting on the GPO schedule for Auto Updates to push out the rest.

ugh.. well I guess all is not well.

it shows in windows update on several machines that the install is successful, but review of the log files indicate this:

No version of the client is currently detected. ccmsetup 3/5/2013 10:45:31 AM 3544 (0x0DD8)
Logon installation has detected an existing version of the Configuration Manager Client. ccmsetup 3/5/2013 10:45:31 AM 3544 (0x0DD8)
CcmSetup is exiting with return code 0 ccmsetup 3/5/2013 10:45:31 AM 3544 (0x0DD8)

so first it says there is no version detected, then it says there is and won't install..
