midiman Posted April 6, 2013 Report post Posted April 6, 2013 Hi I am starting to deploy my application to my PXE clients. And I was wondering what is the benefit of installing the MDT on my Site Server? I assume I can do most of the same things using the SCCM Task Sequences. All I want to be able to do is deploy my O/S to my devices.
Peter van der Woude Posted April 7, 2013 Report post Posted April 7, 2013 The integration with ConfigMgr allows you to use the scripts of MDT (in a task sequence) and adds options like, running PowerShell scripts and Orchestrator runbooks in a task sequence. Oneone Posted April 8, 2013 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Well for one thing you get around 240 new commands, (?) i think i heard Johan Arvidmark say last time i saw him. And also a neat little feature when you deploy it looks like this , (you get info on what happends in the different steps in the process, computername ip-adress ect ect. You can also enable OS result to get a nice little windows how the deployment went, applications OS img that was applyed ect ect. midiman Posted April 8, 2013 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Hmmm. I'm just wondering whether it's worth installing for my deployment needs. I'm used to deploying through WDS and using SYSPREP with a unattend file. I need to try out of the methods really.
