ravindram Posted April 15, 2013 Report post Posted April 15, 2013 Is there a way to push an application out in the background without the user using the software center? I am trying to have Microsoft Project work this way using CM 2012. I would like to have it behave like the client install. Thanks for any help. willisj318 Posted April 15, 2013 Report post Posted April 15, 2013 Yes, make the deployment for the application mandatory and select the option for it to Not be available in the software center.
ravindram Posted April 15, 2013 Report post Posted April 15, 2013 i can do that, but will it allow me to push the software to any individual user? Say if i had 10 users in a collection and i just wanted to push to 1 of those 10 users. How would i get that done?
Bram Posted April 16, 2013 Report post Posted April 16, 2013 Create a collection with only that person/device in there. Then if other people also need the that software add them to the collection, I guess. Or you could work with administrator approval requests. Then you can just publish the software to everyone but keep control over who is allowed to install certain software. But your users need to make use of the software center.
