SCCM 2012 OS Deployments to VMware VMs

Recommended Posts

Attempting to Deploy OS ( either Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012) to VMware VMs. I go into vSphere client and start up a new blank VM it pxe boots successfully to the SCCM server and TS Wizard starts, I pick a TS and it fails stating a files for that package that corresponds to the OS WIMs cannot be located on the distribution point. But the WIMs are there and work to both physicals and deploying directly to Cisco UCS blades via pxe.

When i hit F8 in the wizards I am getting correct IP and i can ping the SCCM server so it is not a network issue (I never would have got to the wizard id it was) but I notice there is no C:\ drive being recognized, when I successfully deployed from SCCM 2007 this way i was able to see the VM's C:\ drive from the F8 screen. So i think when it is saying it cant find the packages i think it is saying it cant download them because there is no where to download them.

In SCCM 2007 I didn't have to add any specific VMWare SCSI drivers to the Boot image (just the nic) and it worked, in SCCM 2012 after i got the error i added the VMWare SCSiI just for belts and suspenders but still not seeing VM driv.

Any insight as to whats going on here would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

Any chance that the VMs are not covered by your boundaries?

VShpere client is 5.1

Bounderies are good, the same subnet as our UCS and they deploy fine
