SCCM 2007 OSD software install not reporting correctly

Recommended Posts

i have a OSD that i have been using for a while, we are now deploying certain applications(office for instance) "as soon as possible" on all machines. the problem is that on new machines we install office through a OSD/task sequence, Office installs fine according to the logs, and when i log into the machine to use word/outlook etc. they all work correctly. but SCCM does not know that office has already been installed and has neither success nor failure when i am logged into windows, post OSD/TS. any ideas? is this normal behavior and i am just now noticing this?

Here is the important part about office from the OSD:
