Phunky Monkey Posted May 9, 2013 Report post Posted May 9, 2013 Had a curious question relating to Software Updates and a user going offsite. If a deployment package is set to be available on Monday, with the client downloading the package shortly after being available, and a deadline of Friday night. If a user shutdown their laptop Friday afternoon, prior to the deadline, and fired it back up Saturday offsite, would the CCM client install the software, or does it have to be in communication with the site system to do so? kvineets Posted May 10, 2013 Report post Posted May 10, 2013 Depends on client settings how often it is set to scan for updates. If user runs the software update scan on client, it will install it as the software is already available.
Phunky Monkey Posted May 10, 2013 Report post Posted May 10, 2013 So if it's onsite, it will adhere to the deployment deadline; but if it's offsite, it requires user intervention?
Rocket Man Posted May 10, 2013 Report post Posted May 10, 2013 If the updates have downloaded to the CCMCACHE and the user turns off the laptop and brings it offsite before the updates install it will install the updates Off-site and software center will alert with a required restart if needed...... Just after testing this
