joerockt Posted June 6, 2013 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Since I can't search "pxe" and "wds", I'm starting a new topic. I'm trying to get pxe to work in sccm. Initially when I checked the pxe box in the dp, it looked as if it installed the wds service. But it wouldn't start up. Found this: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4605-wds-wont-start/ Followed those instructions, but still no go. Here is what distmgr.log is showing: PXE performance counters have been initialized~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.445+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Failed to open WDS service.~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.446+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> WDS is NOT INSTALLED~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.446+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Installing WDS.~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.446+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Running: ServerManagerCmd.exe -i WDS -a~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.446+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Failed (2) to run: ServerManagerCmd.exe -i WDS -a~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.447+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Running: PowerShell.exe -Command Import-Module ServerManager; Get-WindowsFeature WDS; Add-WindowsFeature WDS~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.447+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Waiting for the completion of: PowerShell.exe -Command Import-Module ServerManager; Get-WindowsFeature WDS; Add-WindowsFeature WDS~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:10.455+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Sleep 30 minutes... $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:23.972+420><thread=3368 (0xD28)> ~Created policy provider trigger for ID 16777217 $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:24.258+420><thread=3360 (0xD20)> Sleep 30 minutes... $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:28.981+420><thread=3368 (0xD28)> Sleep 30 minutes... $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:33.990+420><thread=3368 (0xD28)> Run completed for: PowerShell.exe -Command Import-Module ServerManager; Get-WindowsFeature WDS; Add-WindowsFeature WDS~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:35.500+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Successfully installed WDS.~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:35.500+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> Failed to open WDS service.~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:35.500+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> WDS is NOT INSTALLED~ $$<SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER><06-06-2013 09:27:35.500+420><thread=3088 (0xC10)> WDS is not installed.
