Streaming App-V 5.0 apps via SCCM 2012 to pooled VDI desktops

Question

hello, sorry for the long title

long time reader first time poster

we have configured and installed SCCM 2012 SP1 and are now looking at streaming our App-v 5 apps to both our thick desktops and VDI clients.

I have seen the MS whitepapers that detail that it is possible to stream App-V5 packages to VDI clients, and on the MS Technet Site folks mentioning that it does work.

However when we log onto a VDI session, it can take around 20 minutes for the applications to appear, if I do a Machine policy refresh the app-v 5 apps appear instantly.

I have created a new Client Policy and dropped the Client Policy Polling interval (minutes) to 3 minutes, but this still isn't quick.

Could anyone advise on what other settings I need to investigate? Thanks in advance

I am doing the same and user and computer policy fire within a minute and I start recieving packages.

I think the trick is to have a fully patched image. It seems that the microsoft patches have a higher priority than normal patches, if there are patches needed, it waits until those patches are successfully installed or fail. While sccm is downloading the Microsoft Patches, you will not get any notification....it just looks like the client is not responding.
