Rapp Posted June 27, 2013 Report post Posted June 27, 2013 We have a domain migration starting very soon and I wanted a little information about reusing site codes child.lab.local - Current domain with SCCM 2007 environment lab.local - Root domain we are migrating to, going to implement SCCM 2012 SCCM2007 servers Site Code: AAA Server name: AAASCCM01.child.lab.local Site Code: BBB Server name: BBBSCCM01.child.lab.local SCCM2012 servers Site Code: AAA Server name: AAASCCM02.lab.local Site Code: BBB Server name: BBBSCCM02.lab.local Do you know if I can reuse the site codes for the new SCCM servers in the root domain? Or will I have to change them to avoid any conflicts?

Rapp Posted June 27, 2013 Report post Posted June 27, 2013 So even though the SCCM 2012 servers will be installed in the parent domain, I shouldn't reuse the site codes?
GarthMJ Posted June 27, 2013 Report post Posted June 27, 2013 Correct you should NEVER reuse site codes, They have NO meaning and only the CM admin knows anything about them so... What does it matter?
Rapp Posted June 27, 2013 Report post Posted June 27, 2013 OK that is great, thanks for your help. Most of our sites are changing to distribution points so it won't really matter that much.
