teamfox201 Posted July 2, 2013 Report post Posted July 2, 2013 Hello, I know CM 2012 has a simulate deployment option but that doesn't really give you feedback on custom settings and if the app works as intended after installed. How do you guys verify an application, its config/settings, etc before making live for production? Do you guys have a peer review process you go through? Peter33 Posted July 2, 2013 Report post Posted July 2, 2013 We have a bunch of Clients which are for testing only and include every hardware type in production at least 1 time. They run also mixed OS Versions, at least 1 of each in production. The Clients are grouped in their own test collection which will be used for testing every deployment before we release it to everyone. The testing is done by some Client Admins who have nothing to do with SCCM. The whole process is documented in an electronic workflow. teamfox201 Posted July 2, 2013 Report post Posted July 2, 2013 Thank you Peter. Do you have any information on the workflow or is that something you can share?
Peter33 Posted July 2, 2013 Report post Posted July 2, 2013 Well, we are just migrating to a new product at the moment. It's called helpline. The workflow thing is just a part of it. It's a complete IT Management solution.
teamfox201 Posted July 2, 2013 Report post Posted July 2, 2013 Does it integrate into CM 2012 at all or after the workflow is complete everything is manually moved into production?
Peter33 Posted July 3, 2013 Report post Posted July 3, 2013 No, the is no such Integration. We will just create a new deployment for the target collection and delete the test deployment.
