Windows Update on Patchday destroys SCCM 2012

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm new here, and I from Germany.

I've installed an new virtual machine (esxi 5.1) Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise (all Updates installed)

and then SCCM 2012 SP1 with CU1 and SQL Server 2012 Standard with latest patches.

So this constellation worked beautiful (after some hours of planning).

I use SCCM 2012 in my company in our productive environment an it is very useful.

It is a single side system and I deploy OS with drivers and tasksequencences.

On softwarecenter I distribute many applications, so the people can install directy with one click.

Since this, the number of virus alerts in our management center went extremly down!

It worked great...till

On Thuesday, we had patchday... and the problems begun.

My server is configured to automaticly update itselves from windows update.

So the patches knocked the SCCM Server out.

On next morning i was wondering and couldn't believe my eyes.

Some components showed red status.

- PXE don't work / Bootloader Error / no WinPE Splashscreen

- Softwarecenter don't work / Application Install Errors

- SMS Exe Errors

- MP Errors

- Many SQL Errors

So I decided to Restore the SCCM 2012, because there is no time to search for windows bugs.

After the restore, SCCM2012 worked fine again and all components showed green status.

So I tested again with a manual Windows Update and the problem comes again.

My question is...

Is anybody here, who has the same Bug/Error?

My solution now is to deactivate the windows updates. But in future I will need this. So you understand my problem?
