AndyDHamm Posted August 8, 2013 Report post Posted August 8, 2013 I've just done a side by side migration from SCCM 2012 SP1 to a new installation of SCCM 2012 SP1. Reason being is that the OS that my original primary site server was installed on kept BSODing after a couple hours, sometimes days, sometimes weeks. And after months of trying to resolve it I gave up, and also wanted to update the server's naming convention given the "opportunity". For the most part, it went smooth. I had to recreate all of my task sequences as all the old ones would fail to start throwing a generic error code. Copying and pasting the entire task sequence into a new one fixed that issue. And some packages wouldn't show up, but deleting the advertisment and re-advertising them worked. Anyways, on to the big issue... Everything else seems to be working except for Package and Application deployment. If I try to run an advertised Package / Application, it just sticks at "Waiting to install" in software center. The content downloads, I can see the full source in %windir%\ccmcache. I can even manually install it from the downloaded content in ccmcache, but it just won't kick off automatically. Also it will simply skip past any application installs that are explicitly assigned in task sequences during OSD However, Packages that are in the task sequence WILL install. But what's really bizare is if I try to run an application install to a computer that was imaged before I migrated SCCM to the new server, the application installs instantly, without any delay, or error. I've tried with both mandatory and available Application deployment types. I believe all the applications will eventually install, I just have no idea what the delay is. I cannot find any errors in any of the log files that have any reference to the Application name or package ID. And also, I need to figure out why they don't install during the task sequence without any errors in the SMSTS log file or even any reference at all the the related Application name or Package ID. All software updates are set to show up in software center, and I cleared the ccmcache, and nothing new is showing up. I can't see any errors in the typical log files. All Applications & Packages are set to "allow installation from a task sequence without being advertised" All Applications & Packages that are in the task sequence are also assigned to the "All Systems" group or "Workstations" group depending on the software title. The only theory I have left which I'd have no idea how to resolve is if there's some corrupt application with a mandatory advertisement that isn't showing up in the console / client, that was properly installed by all the existing PCs when they were attached to the old server, that is trying to deploy to all new machines, but can't because it doesn't actually exist. I had a similar issue with an App that was migrated but wouldn't show up in the console anywhere except under monitoring, as a package that failed to distribute to the DPs. I had to delete it with an SQL query. Help?! Let me know which log files you would like to see, and I'll provide them. Thanks!
