Today's students have a propensity to "figure things out" without documentation .. in fact, I suspect some of them are unaware that such a concept actually exists. Even children of today work things out without manuals and should there be a need for information, you've got the Internet. I am constantly informed about technical insights that I wouldn't have a clue about, from my children.
