AndrewWilson Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 Let me start off by saying this is my first full install of SCCM (of any version), I've configured parts before but never fully installed. My only goal right now is to get Endpoint Protection deployed to 2 groups: "Servers" and "Workstations" I have a single server hosting all of this: Server 2008 R2 SCCM 2012 SP1 SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Roles (I may be wrong on what roles I have installed): Component server Distribution point Endpoint Protection point Management point Site database server Site server Site system Discovery Methods (also may be wrong here, searching by OU only): Active Directory Forest Discovery Active Directory Group Discovery Active Directory System Discovery (Only pulling Servers at this point for testing) Heartbeat Discovery Boundaries: 1st IP Subnet Range 2nd IP Subnet Range Active Directory site Boundary Groups: Site (includes 2nd IP Subnet and Active Directory Site) Client Settings: Site Servers (Deployed to Correct Collections) Device Collections: Servers (16 devices) Let me know if you need more information to help out. So far if I click Install Client, the wizard completes successfully, ccm.log has no errors, but the client never gets installed (I've waited 12 hours). If I run a SQL query to find LatestProccessingAttempt with LastErrorCode, all of the servers that are online have an error code of 0 with the correct timestamp on proccessing attempt. Like I said before, I'm just trying to get Endpoint Protection to work, as far as I know I need the clients installed on the devices before endpoint protection will run scans. I'm not sure where to go from here, any help would be greatly appreciated.
AmrelMahdy Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 Are you sure ccmsetup.log has no errors ? , is the client appearing in the control panel ?
AndrewWilson Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 Are you sure ccmsetup.log has no errors ? , is the client appearing in the control panel ? I don't see a ccmsetup.log file on the server, where would this be located? Client appearing in the control panel on the device side, not the site host side right? I don't see anything on the device side
AmrelMahdy Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 ccmsetup.log is on the client side and the client is on control panel on the client side
AndrewWilson Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 ccmsetup.log is on the client side and the client is on control panel on the client side I don't see either, nor a folder structure for Configuration Manager. AmrelMahdy Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 check the this folder C:\Windows\ccmsetup\logs there u'll find ccmsetup.log
AndrewWilson Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 check the this folder C:\Windows\ccmsetup\logs there u'll find ccmsetup.log Ahhhhh Failed to get DP locations as the expected version from MP 'server.domain.lan'. Error 0x87d00215 So it appears the distribution point is the problem. I don't have a distribution point, just the 1 site. AndrewWilson Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 Upon further research: Under Monitoring>Distribution Status>Content Status>Configuration Manager Client Package> Error: Distribution manager failed to connect to the distribution point ["Display=\\site.domain.lan\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=CHS"]\\site.domain.lan\. Check your network and firewall settings. The Domain firewall is off on this machine, any suggestions on trying to pin point the failure? AmrelMahdy Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 would u try to restart that server ?
AndrewWilson Posted August 16, 2013 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 Restart didn't help Uninstalled DP, Reinstalled DP. Packages are pushing now. (I couldn't have found DP being the issue without your help, thank you so much!) Now I just have to figure out how to push out Endpoint Protection and start scans. (that part is new to me)
