SCCM 12 Unable to generate report to list office programs/features (MS Access) 2010 or 2007

Hi,

I have requirement from management to provide a report to show who has MS office Access 2010/2007 installed on their machine using SCCM 2012. The only thing I can find on user machine is "Microsoft Office Access MUI 2010/2007" which doesn't verify that it's installed or not.

I used another report (Computers with a specific file) to list all machines that have "MSACCESS.EXE" on them, but also I found out that some users have "Microsoft Office Access Runtime 2010/2007" installed on them which are showing in the report also.

Is there any way of getting such information, instead of manually comparing 4 different reports which is taking too much time, I have over 1200 computers managed by SCCM.

What do you say “"Microsoft Office Access MUI 2010/2007" which doesn't verify that it's installed or not.” If the PC is listed it means that Access was installed.

I ran this report on computers that I know for sure that it not installed there as I physically checked them and also searched for "MSACCESS.EXE' file on them and it wasn't there.

Just because the EXE is not there doesn't mean that Access is not installed particularly from a licensing stand point.

 

Therefore if this is for licensing then you need to determine why Access is showing up in ARP data. I have seen this before where a company to save time have install the Full version of office and Delete the Access exe but they were in violation of the licensing terms and they had to clean up their PCs.

 

So how was Office installed? Is it part of your Base image?

My office is installed without Access and it's not base of my base image. I only need to find out if the ms acess feature of office 2010 or 2007 is installed or not which SCCM can't do.
