ConfigMgr 2012 Distribution Points on Windows 2008 R2 Core Installations

Good afternoon all. I've run s few search queries on the forum with a few keywords to see if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything. Do any of you know if it's possible (and advisable) to have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core as a distribution point in SCCM 2012? I know prerequisites make it sound as a possibility, but can't seem to find anyone yet who's actually managed to do it and any drawbacks. I'd appreciate any input.

Actually it seem to say it is NOT supported. see Configuration Manager System Requirements section of the docs.

 

Site systems are not supported on Server Core installations for the following operating systems:

Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Windows Server 2008 Foundation or Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation

Windows Server 2012

Windows Server 2012 Foundation
