scottygb2k Posted August 29, 2013 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Hi, I have recently setup a SCCM2012 primary site for my company and everything is working great. I have now been told that two remote sites are joining our domain and they need to be added to SCCM. The 2 sites are very small, only have around 30 PC's each but WAN speeds are only 2MB so want to restrict data usage as much as possible. I think a secondary site is a bit too much and thought maybe a remote distribution point would be enough. I basically would like to deploy OS Images, Software Updates and Software Packages to these PC's but obviously don't want them pulling data over the WAN all the time. Can someone please tell me the best way of doing this? I have done some reading and my idea is to simply add a remote server as a site server and install the distribution point role then I can distribute all required OS images, software packages and MS patches to it. Then the PC's should grab the files from there instead of going over the WAN shouldn't they? Do I need to add any other roles to this server to speed things up? Or is the distribution point enough? Sorry if i haven't explained myself very well, I am still learning. Regards, Scottygb2k
