mrbios Posted October 29, 2013 Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Yes it would be a reason.....my Task Sequence fails at some packages if i download all content as my packages are designed and built for accessing from DP first! Is there of distinguishing different task sequence components to use different methods of installation? For example i'd prefer that the OS install went from DP first rather than download then for drivers to download and run locally as this seems to be quicker again on my setup, then again for the apps that run batch files to run locally rather than from the DP. Rocket Man Posted October 29, 2013 Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Well that is possible but I am not sure about the driver part. You could specify your deployment to access all content from DP which will allow for the OS to be installed via accessing from DP then for your packages you could copy each one locally and execute them locally via run command line. The driver part I am not sure as there is more going on to an attach driver package task behind the scenes.
Gareth86 Posted November 12, 2013 Report post Posted November 12, 2013 Microsoft has now released a Hotfix for Operating System Deployment in SCCM 2012R2. I downloaded it and installed the patch and everything has speeded up again. Here is the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2905002/en-us
Grubsy Posted November 20, 2013 Report post Posted November 20, 2013 Just tried this and my network usage on the SCCM server went from around 30mbit when dowloading the .WIM to around 900mbit. Definitely fixed the problem
Abduljalil Posted March 24, 2014 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 Hi, I have the same issue, I'll test the hotfix. Thanks
kevlar01 Posted March 24, 2014 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 Note that the hotfix KB2905002 is now superseded by hotfix KB2910552. So I'd install that one!
rocklander Posted May 1, 2014 Report post Posted May 1, 2014 apologies for gate crashing the SCCM party, but we're using MDT on it's own (with WDS) and I'm experiencing the same issue. I suspect the SCCM hotfix wont bring me much joy. is anyone aware of any fox for MDT stand alone?
