axelsonic Posted October 31, 2013 Report post Posted October 31, 2013 Hello. Dispite the fact that i've followed the excellent the guides ( http://matthewdpeters.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/system-center-configuration-manager-2012-full-installation/ ) on the blog by Matthew Peters, my installation of SCCM 2012 keeps failing. At the moment I feel like an complete moron, and I don't like it. There is obviously something that i've missed, but I can't figure out what... A little background on the machinery that's supposed to run SCCM 2012. It's a (vmware) virtual machine, setup solely for the purpose of running SCCM. The database (SQL 2012) is installed on the same vm. There are two instances, one SCCM and one for WSUS. There are no other systems or applications using the database! The machine account has local admin rights and also sysadmin rights on both SQL-instances. Despite all my efforts, I keep getting the following error. ==== INFO: SQL Connection succeeded. Connection: SMS ACCESS, Type: Secure $$<Configuration Manager Setup><10-30-2013 15:58:12.267-60><thread=1524 (0x5F4)> *** [42000][9692][Microsoft] [sql Server]The Service Broker endpoint cannot listen on port 61254 because it is in use by another process. $$<Configuration Manager Setup><10-30-2013 15:58:14.852-60><thread=1524 (0x5F4)>ERROR: SQL Server error: [42000][9692][Microsoft][sql Server Native Client 11.0][sql Server]The Service Broker endpoint cannot listen on port 61254 because it is in use by another process. $$<Configuration Manager Setup><10-30-2013 15:58:14.852-60><thread=1524 (0x5F4)>ERROR: Failed to execute spConfigureServiceBroker $$<Configuration Manager Setup><10-30-2013 15:58:14.852-60><thread=1524 (0x5F4)>~=== I've attached a edited copy of the gui from the installation, as well as the full log file from the installation. Btw, this is my first post, so please be nice =) . Best regards/AxelConfigMgrSetup.log
l.hv.yang Posted October 31, 2013 Report post Posted October 31, 2013 did you configure the instances manually or did you let configmgr do it? check this out: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/scom_2012_upgrade_process__lessons_learned_during_my_upgrade_process/archive/2012/07/04/configuration-manager-2012-setup-error-_3a00_-setup-is-unable-to-connect-to-sql-server-with-the-connection-information-provided.aspx your log file also shows errors with exporting boot images...you might want to disable your antivirus :-)
axelsonic Posted November 1, 2013 Report post Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks for replying! The instances of SQL 2012 has been installed using the regular install-guide-wizard, I haven't done anything else with them, just installed them. I also saw the problem with the boot images but can't understand why there is a problem with them, the ADK is installed, and there is no antivirus installed on the machine. The value for dynamic ports has been removed, not just set to 0 but completely removed, and static port has been set to 61254, so that shouldn't be an issue. I did notice now, that there are dynamic ports for the ADK-instance of SQL... Will that be an issue? Best regards /Axel
axelsonic Posted November 1, 2013 Report post Posted November 1, 2013 It's working now! After looking through my configuration it turns out i've been careless and done a "typo" in a port number. Best regards /Axel
