Kakeshoma Posted November 3, 2013 Report post Posted November 3, 2013 Hi, I understand software updating is configured is differently from company to company. I use one ADR for all updates and one ADR for patch tuesday for each client OS with their own deployment package Though I have seen some use the same deployment package for several ADRs etc. Are there any good reason for doing the latter option in oppose to how I do it? My reason is to keep a good overview of how things are connected, although in R2 you can finally see which package an ADR uses. Is it correct that when using a single package, the SUGs make sure only the updates for the specific OS is deployed to it? If anyone would like to share their configuration it'd be greatly appreciated.
Iroqouiz Posted November 4, 2013 Report post Posted November 4, 2013 Technically you could deploy the SUGs to a collection containing all your machines (workstations and servers). The machines would only install updates that are actually applicable to them, just like WSUS.
