walzing Posted November 14, 2013 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Hi, I have a question about content download to clients. I just play around with my SCCM 2012 and think I have a misunderstanding of how content download is started. My understanding was - If I assign a package to a collection and set deployment type to 'Required', make it available 'ASAP' and set the Installation Deadline to '14.11.2013 - 08:00am', the content download will start as soon as the client starts the evaluation. However - I forced the evaluation on client side on 13.11.2013 more than one time. But I didn't see any download on client side (verified with bitsadmin - and BITS is limited to 20kbit/s). On 14.11.2013 - 08:10 the client started to download (verified with bitsadmin). So - why doesn't the client preload content if it is required? cu Walzing
Bendes Posted November 14, 2013 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Are the Boundaries (where the Client resides) created and assigned to a Distribution Point?
walzing Posted November 14, 2013 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 The client has the followong IP: 10.0.0.102 The Boundaries and DP Settings are in the screenshot I think this should be correct.
walzing Posted November 14, 2013 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 It seems I wasn't patient enough. Just started another test - and it seems it's downloading.
bob442 Posted November 14, 2013 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 sms...AKA slow moving software.... patients are one of biggest requirements for SCCM that is not really expressed in any documentation.
