Stian M. Posted December 3, 2013 Report post Posted December 3, 2013 Anyone got any ideas here? WAIK and ADK is reinstalled. And also - why does it look like it's trying to fetch image properties from a drive that doesn't exist? I've googled my ass off for two days in a row now, I'm about to give up and start all over again Error: Boot image to update: • Microsoft Windows PE (x64) Error: Actions to perform: • Add ConfigMgr binaries • Add custom background • Set scratch space • Enable Windows PE command line support Optional components: • Scripting (WinPE-Scripting) • Startup (WinPE-SecureStartup) • Network (WinPE-WDS-Tools) • Scripting (WinPE-WMI) Error: The wizard detected the following problems when updating the boot image. • The SMS Provider reported an error.: ConfigMgr Error Object: instance of SMS_ExtendedStatus { • Description = "Failed to insert OSD binaries into the WIM file"; • ErrorCode = 2152205056; • File = "e:\\qfe\\nts\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\sspbootimagepackage.cpp"; • Line = 4630; • ObjectInfo = "CSspBootImagePackage::PreRefreshPkgSrcHook"; • Operation = "ExecMethod"; • ParameterInfo = "SMS_BootImagePackage.PackageID=\"A0100013\""; • ProviderName = "WinMgmt"; • StatusCode = 2147749889; }; And! Yan Posted December 5, 2013 Report post Posted December 5, 2013 I've seen anti-virus software that prevents Boot Image updates. Try disabling AV software
Stian M. Posted December 5, 2013 Report post Posted December 5, 2013 Disabling AV didn't help
l.hv.yang Posted December 5, 2013 Report post Posted December 5, 2013 Are you running ConfigMgr 2012 SP1? You only need WADK for SP1.
Stian M. Posted December 6, 2013 Report post Posted December 6, 2013 Yes, I recently figured that out. Anyhow - uninstalling WAIK doensn't solve anyting - I'm still experiencing the same problems.
teamfox201 Posted December 6, 2013 Report post Posted December 6, 2013 I had the exact error message, my permissions were not properly set on \\SERVER\SMS_CODE\OSD\boot . If I navigated to that path and tried to duplicate the boot wim from either i386 or x64 I was getting permission errors. Stian M. Posted December 9, 2013 Report post Posted December 9, 2013 I've double checked all permissions on all shares, System has full access both on NTFS and share. Also tried to duplicate the WIM-files, this did not work.
broon-scotland Posted February 24, 2014 Report post Posted February 24, 2014 Has anyone found a solution to this. We are having the same issue after recovering the server. SCCM drives were ok but c: drive with Server OS had to be rebuilt from scratch.
mc111 Posted April 13, 2020 Report post Posted April 13, 2020 Having the same issue in a Test Lab I've just built. - Share and folder permissions all correct - Tried recreating the boot images, still fails to distribute - Removing and re-adding the DP to the Boundary Group...nope! Anyone fix this yet? I know this is an old post but i have the same issue on Current Branch 1910. Very annoyed!
