Client Push install fails with weird error

Recommended Posts

Follow up:

After working with Microsoft we found that deleting the CCMSetup service, and running the following:

ccmsetup.exe /MP:ServerName /NoService SMSSITECODE=SiteCode

The installation succeeds. We are still working with MS on a RCA of why the system account is unable to install the client successfully but that is the outcome.

On another note, does any one have any suggestions on how to run a start-up script/GPO deployment in a user context? I tried PSExec, but the client install fails there too.

I tried this method of install and it still fails. Anyone else have any suggestions??

Michael

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I just ran into this issue with our 1602 upgrade & migration from our SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 environment.

In client.msi.log we were getting the same error as above.

[10:25:19] ERROR: ITaskService::Connect failed with error 0x8007045a

We also use Verdasys Digital Guardian and after terminating the agent, the client install went on without a problem.

Niall, to answer your question, DG is DLP software that uses filter drivers to lock down the OS. It is very deep-level and causes alot of issues for us most of the time. It has very stringent security and can be used to limit network connections, prevent file/folder access, disallow processes, etc. Our security team loves it!
