OSD Failing at Apply Operating System

So i've inherited the SCCM infrastructure at my company and everything worked for a month after the last guy was there and now our imaging no longer works.

 

The platform is this: SCCM 2012 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2

 

Steps to get the problem

 

-PXE works and WinPE loads

-You see the task sequences (we have 3)

-no matter which one you choose it will start, format the disk(step1) and then fail at the second step which is applying the OS image.

 

I have tried recreating the task sequences, recreating and redistributing the image packages, I've given the network access accocunt and the server computer account local admin access to the DP (it's just one server that does every role).

 

from what i've looked up it seems like 1 of 2 things

 

1) no permission to the file location

2) wrong file location

 

the file location hasn't changed since it was working, but we did move the SCCMContentLib folder from the C drive to the D drive on the server using an MS tool and I have removed and readded the distribution point role a couple of times in the midst of troubleshooting this.
