Folder Redirection

Planning out our XP to 7 Migration. What is everyone's thoughts on redirecting My Documents and Favorites to a users home directory? During testing we are running into an issue when a user takes their laptop home and can't pull up documents and favorites.

For the move to Windows 7 for our enterprise customer, we moved completely away from roaming profiles and used folder redirection for a large portion of the users enviroment. The users homedrive was also home to a redirected desktop and other functions that gave the appeareance of a romaing profile.

 

As for the homedrive on the move. You need to have the correct GPO settings for synch centre and all laptops users must intiate a first time sync before loggong off the network and going mobile.
